Diving and Snorkeling
Cabo has some of the world's finest diving since it's in the middle of a transition zone between tropical and temperate waters. Strikingly large fish - amberjacks, hammerheads, and manta rays, which are partial to temperate waters, mix with the smaller, more colorful species typical of tropical waters. The area is famous for its "sand falls" - streams of sand tumbling over a vast submarine canyon. Several areas along the Corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose feature abundant spots for good snorkeling.

Fishing
Other than swimming and lying on the beach, sport fishing is Cabo's number-one outdoor activity. An average of 50,000 billfish - marlin, sailfish, and swordfish - a year are hooked off the cape, more than anywhere else in the world. Dorado, tuna, wahoo, and yellowtail are also common in these areas. Numerous world fishing records have been set in the Baja!

Kayaking
The Sea of Cortez is truly a world-class kayaking environment, La Paz in particular is an excellent place to sea-kayak because of the abundant number of bays, coves, and islands nearby. Down the south coast, Cabo Pulmo also offers adventures in kayaking.

Surf School
Surf school available at the Cabo Surf Hotel just down the highway.

Surfing
The beaches along the Corridor offer great consistent summer wave action for surfers. With the surf reaching peak season late summer to early fall, Playa Costa Azul boasts two good summer breaks, "Zippers" - a short fast inside and "The Rock" - a middle right point break. Playa Cabo Bello is known for a consistent left point break nicknamed "Monuments", the easternmost break for winter surfing.

Whale Watching
From January through April, an estimated 11,000 Gray Whales make their journey here to bear their calves and play in the warm waters of the Sea of Cortez. Whales can easily be seen from shore or you can also take an excursion to see them more closely.

Wind Surfing
From November to April, the Sea of Cortez is a windsurfer's paradise. Sailboarders flock to Los Barriles during this high wind season when water temperatures average 75 degrees and air temperatures average 85 degrees.
